Installation

Sierra++ uses the features provided by Sierra Chart for custom study distribution :

• Sierra Chart User Management System
• Sierra Chart Automated File Distribution System

This makes the installation safe and straightforward.

Step by step

Since Sierra++ has entered End Of Life, this page is dedicated to existing users with a valid license.

1. Ensure you have received Sierra++ files

Open the Sierra Chart Data Folder using Windows Explorer.

Where is the Sierra Chart Data Folder ?

You can find the path in Sierra Chart : >> Global Settings >> General Settings >> [Paths] tab

In the Sierra Chart Data Folder you should find two added files :

You can check that both files are digitally signed (right-click, Properties, “Digital Signatures” tab).

2. Create a shortcut to the application

1. Right-click on Sierra++.exe
2. Click “Pin to taskbar”, so that you can start it quickly.

3. Enjoy using it !

Start Sierra++ application and follow the Welcome screen indications.

First execution of the application (AV & Windows Smartscreen Filter)

As the product is new, it may not be recognized by antivirus publishers or Microsoft yet. It is very likely that your antivirus will recommend blocking it, and Windows Smartscreen Filter may issue a warning due to the “Unknown Publisher”.

In case of any doubt, ensure that the software binaries are digitally signed.

First execution of the application (missing VCRUNTIME140_1.DLL)

If the first launch indicates that VCRUNTIME140_1.DLL is missing, then you need to install the Microsoft VC Redist 2015-2022 package, which is a small set of DLLs available on Microsoft website (Select the X64 Architecture).
The package to download is less than 25MB and the setup does not require a reboot.

Technical reason : the Sierra++ application is compiled with the Microsoft C++ compiler which relies on a couple of extra dlls that may not always be included in a default Windows installation.
